Solo takeout pizza in Beomeo-dong, Daegu: NY Steak House, Clap Pizza

Clap Pizza Daegu Believe Heritage is a branch of a well-known Seoul pizza brand in the Believe Heritage shopping arcade in Suseong, Daegu, sitting in a row with Downtowner and Knotted Donuts. The writer ordered a regular New York Steak House pizza at the kiosk, picked it up to go in about 20 minutes and ate half of it alone, finding the thin crust, large beef steak pieces, asparagus and ricotta a great match. With sauces and pickles packed in the takeout bag and a wide range of toppings, Clap Pizza is a Suseong pizzeria the writer wants to revisit.

Gyodong Nakwon is a Japanese-style izakaya on Gukchaebosang-ro in Gyodong, Jung-gu, Daegu. On a Friday evening the blogger took the last bar seat at Gyodong Nakwon and ordered aged salmon sashimi (small, ₩27,000), crab innards pasta (₩16,000), yakigyoza (₩6,000), a Suntory highball (₩8,000) and Chamisul soju (₩5,000), and found the food good across the board. Hyangtaek Daegu Jongno Branch is a good pick for a date or a relaxed meal when you miss light, home-style Korean food.
