Hongdae gomtang restaurant with mild pork tail jjim lunch: Anok
Anok is a hanok Korean restaurant in an alley off Hongik-ro in Hongdae, Seoul, serving Korean dishes built around Pyongyang naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) and gomtang (clear beef soup). Over lunch in the calm, sunlit hanok, we tried three dishes: the Pyongyang naengmyeon was hard going for a child's palate, while the spicy braised pork tail was gentle enough for someone who can't take heat. Anok is an easy Hongdae lunch spot when you're eating with people whose tastes don't match. Hours are 11:00 to 22:00.
