Hongdae restaurant for a spicy pork tail and naengmyeon combo: Anok
Anok is a hanok-style Korean restaurant in an alley off Hongik-ro, near Hongdae Station in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Two of us ordered generously — clear pork gomtang (pork bone soup), Pyongyang naengmyeon (buckwheat cold noodles) and braised pork tail jjim — and the best part was alternating bites of the spicy pork tail with the clean, mild naengmyeon broth. Even someone who never liked Pyongyang naengmyeon finished the bowl at Anok without tiring of it.
