Jongno3-ga Korean BBQ with a double grill plate: Cham Dwaejitgan

Cham Dwaejitgan Jongno Main Branch is a pork belly restaurant on the 1st floor of the CGV Piccadilly building by Exit 2 of Jongno3-ga Station in Seoul. The writer ordered Boseong green pork cham samgyeopsal (premium pork belly), which a staff member grilled on a striking double plate with a round grill set inside a square one, alongside kimchi, bean sprouts, minari and thin-sliced potato wraps. The side dishes matched the pork so well that not a single piece was left.

Gangmun-dong galbi restaurant, dinner with a dog: Chodang Uga

Gangneung Hanwoo Chodang Uga is a hanwoo beef and pork galbi restaurant in Gangmun-dong, Gangneung, right beside St. John's Hotel, and dogs are welcome inside. The writer came for dinner with her dog Dodam and ordered two servings of pork galbi, which arrived with more than seven side dishes including sundubu (soft tofu), japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) and sweet pumpkin salad. Chodang Uga is an easy choice for a grilled meat dinner without straying far from the hotel.
