Ordering the Assorted Set B, cheese katsu, and kimchi nabe set together meant alternating between crisp, juicy cutlets and a spicy hot pot broth, with the nabe cutting through the fried food's richness perfectly. Geurine Oasis is a bakery café on Jugyeopsan-ro in Sohol-eup, Pocheon, Gyeonggi, framing forest views through huge floor-to-ceiling windows. Reached by a drive from Seoul, it pairs a bright indoor space and a spacious outdoor terrace with iced Americano, Valrhona mocha latte, and salt bread. A solid last stop to add to a Pocheon road trip when you want quiet green scenery with your coffee.
Manpo Garden is a charcoal pork galbi restaurant in Yangju's Okjeong-dong. Three servings of scored, seasoned pork galbi were grilled over charcoal, paired with the free naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) that comes with any meat order — one bowl of mul naengmyeon and one bibim naengmyeon, eaten yuksam-naengmyeon style. Mild seasoning, tender scored meat, and a generous serving-size free noodle dish made for a can't-go-wrong meal.
