Daejeon Korean restaurant for sweet corn shrimp potato pancake: Usul
Usul is a fusion Korean restaurant on the first floor of a building behind the church across from Sungsimdang, in Daeheung-dong, Jung-gu, Daejeon. Over lunch with her mom, the writer ordered peanut chogye bibimmyeon (cold noodles in chilled peanut-chicken broth) for 13,900 won and Usul's sweet corn shrimp potato pancake for 18,900 won, where the crispy pancake topped with sweet corn, ricotta and flame-grilled shrimp stood out most. With basement parking and an open kitchen visible from the bar seats, Usul earned a full five stars.
