Daegu Korean restaurant with dad at 5pm reopening: Banwoldang
Banwoldang Bujasikdang is a fire-grilled short rib and squid stir-fry restaurant in an alley off Gwandeokjeong-gil in Jung-gu, Daegu. Visiting right at the 5pm reopening with her dad, the writer ordered two servings of buja (father-son) grilled short rib, two servings of spicy fire-grilled squid stir-fry, cheonggukjang stew, and drinks — the thick-cut meat turned out surprisingly tender, not chewy. With a free lettuce-wrap self-bar, both the meat and the squid stir-fry kept getting wrapped and eaten one after another.
