Cheongju Chinese restaurant with kids: mini menbosha, Gyodong
Gyodong Jjamppong Yongjeong Branch is a Chinese restaurant in Yongjeong-dong, Sangdang-gu, Cheongju, part of the Gangneung Gyodong Jjamppong family. Three of us — my dad, my 8-year-old nephew and me — ordered jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) for 9,000 won, fried rice for 9,000 won, ultra-mini glutinous sweet-and-sour pork for 7,000 won and ultra-mini menbosha (deep-fried shrimp toast) for 7,000 won, sharing a meat-based jjamppong broth and fried rice with no heat at all. Gyodong Jjamppong Yongjeong Branch works well for a family meal: adults get a drink with their jjamppong, kids get the menbosha.
