Lamb skewers and kkanpunggi for two in Cheongju: Gukje Yangyukgwan
Gukje Yangyukgwan is a lamb skewer and Chinese food restaurant on the main street of Jiwell City in Bokdae-dong, Cheongju. A ₩16,000 order of skewers came as five raw-style and five original, served with kkanpunggi (crispy sweet-and-spicy fried chicken), and the lamb had no gamey smell at all while the chicken stayed tender inside. Parking is free at the Heungdeok Health Center lot, a 5-minute walk away, and Gukje Yangyukgwan is even better with a group big enough to add more cooked dishes.
