Gongju Korean restaurant by Gyeryongsan: Bapkkot Hana Pieotne

In short

Bapkkot Hana Pieotne is a Korean restaurant near Gyeryongsan in Gongju, Chungnam. I ordered the ₩25,000 charcoal-grilled pork set and ₩30,000 water parsley tteokgalbi set, with heaps of home-grown greens and sides. Verdict: a hearty, neat, healthy family meal with a soothing cat-filled view.

The Gongju trip I'd been wanting to take! I finally did it. Let me introduce the restaurant I ate at sooo deliciously during the trip.

Bapkkot Hana Pieotne near Gyeryongsan

Bapkkot Hana Pieotne (밥꽃하나피었네) is located near Gyeryongsan, so lots of people visit before or after hiking. There is parking, and Naver reservations, high chairs, and group dining are available.

What are the parking lot and walking trail like?

Parking lot in front of Bapkkot Hana Pieotne

There is a parking lot before you enter the restaurant, plus lots 1, 2, and 3, so no parking worries!

A light walking path near the restaurant

There is also a path for a light walk, so it seemed perfect for a post-meal stroll to help digestion. I arrived before my reservation time and took a little walk before going in, haha.

Once you've parked, go in here and you'll find the entrance.

There were dogs by the parking lot 🐶 and cats by the restaurant entrance 🐱—so many cats! But they were all gentle little sweetheartsㅠㅠㅠㅠ

An interior with floor-to-ceiling windows and cats in view

Inside, it is a cozy, welcoming space where you can enjoy a quiet meal. I loved being able to eat while looking out at the lush green view through the big windows.

There is also a separate space that is perfect for family gatherings, so I think you just need to reserve it in advance.

This place is already famous as a great Korean restaurant in Gongju! It has even appeared on lots of well-known TV programs,,

Bapkkot Hana Pieotne says it does not use MSG and provides healthy food grown directly at Bapkkot Farm. That made me trust the place even more!

Cats visible from the restaurant

A truly good restaurant that received the Blue Ribbon for two years in a row. Once you sit down, you can see the cats playing like this—pure healing,, 💛

The sets we ordered and their generous sides

The menu consists only of charcoal-grilled stir-fried pork, water parsley tteokgalbi (grilled minced meat patties; soy sauce or gochujang flavor), and Cheonyeoncho tteokgalbi sets.

They gave us warm water, which was nice for settling the stomach before the meal.

The mains had not even come out yet, but this overflowing table spread was insane,,

I was really looking forward to it because the food is grown and made here, and yep—it felt so fresh, with incredible care in every single item. The dish that tastes a little like japchae uses health-focused noodles rather than glass noodles, so it is easy on the stomach too. You can really feel the thought put into every ingredient 🫶

A dish made with buckwheat noodles! I had this as my first bite, and it was such a great way to start, waking up my appetite right away 🤤

Every side dish was as delicious as the mains, so it was an extremely satisfying meal. I was even more excited to see how good the main dishes would be.

The mains finally arrived! ❗️

Table setting after the set-meal mains arrived

Ahh—an even more abundant table.

Gangdoenjang and greens side dishes on the table

When the mains came out, even more greens and side dishes kept arriving—there was seriously no end to them,, The fact that they grow all these ingredients themselves to make such fresh greens—this is what care looks like,,, 🫢

The gangdoenjang (thick seasoned soybean paste) served alongside is amazing mixed into rice~ It is also great to top it with the greens and make bibimbap (mixed rice). 👍

How the water parsley tteokgalbi and charcoal-grilled pork tasted

The tteokgalbi was tender rather than dry, with all its juices intact—a flavor everyone would enjoy, no matter their preferences.

Tender water parsley tteokgalbi set meal

It was nicely sweet, and so good over rice with the enoki mushrooms and onions that came with the tteokgalbi.

Seasoned charcoal-grilled pork with wrap greens

The charcoal-grilled stir-fried pork is pork thoroughly infused with seasoning, then stir-fried over charcoal to capture both flavor and aroma. It comes with ssam vegetables (wrap greens), and it is good wrapped up with the pork and the greens side dishes. Every dish was full of care, which made this meal even more satisfyingㅠㅠㅠㅠ

With side dishes they grow and make themselves, plus such carefully prepared food, I think this place would please anyone. I recommend visiting with family. If you want a neat, healthy, filling meal, I recommend Bapkkot Hana Pieotne!!
