Yuil Jangeo is a large charcoal-grilled freshwater eel restaurant on Donggok-ro in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju. Live eel costs 29,000 won per kilogram, picked by hand from the in-house seafood counter and pre-grilled before it reaches the charcoal table, and the table-setting fee is 4,000 won for adults and 2,000 won for elementary schoolers, including an unlimited self-bar with green onion kimchi, shredded ginger and perilla leaves. Two people ate their fill for about 50,000 won, so Yuil Jangeo is a great-value eel restaurant that also handles big group dinners.
