Friday night dakgalbi buffet with grilled pork belly in Guro: Bak

Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi is an all-you-can-eat charcoal dakgalbi (grilled chicken) restaurant on the 3rd floor of Huijeon Building, 100m from Exit 2 of Guro Digital Complex Station in Seoul, formerly known as Sagyejinmi Charcoal Dakgalbi Guro Digital branch under a new name only. On a Friday night revisit, the writer started with soy sauce chicken from the self-bar, moved through salt-grilled dakgalbi, seasoned dakgalbi, thin-sliced grilled pork belly, and finished with fried rice on the grill. At ₩20,500 per adult for a 2-hour all-you-can-eat course, it's a solid pick for group dinners in Guro.

Weekend sirloin gyukatsu set for two near Yeouido Station: Izawa

Izawa Yeouido Direct Store is a Japanese restaurant near Yeouido Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, where sirloin gyukatsu is grilled tableside on a mini charcoal brazier. Visiting on a weekend, the writer ordered the gyukatsu set (sirloin) for 18,000 won for two people, and staff happily refilled the ginger and swapped the brazier's coals without hesitation. Crisp and thin on the outside, rare inside, it melts in your mouth with just salt and fresh wasabi.
