Beef soup restaurant in Jung-gu, Daegu with a mild option: Hanwoojang
Hanwoojang is a seolleongtang (ox bone soup) restaurant in front of Jungangno Station in Jung-gu, Daegu, with Blue Ribbon certification for 12 straight years. Ordering one plain seolleongtang (11,000 won) and one ttaro-gukbap (11,000 won) with thin somyeon noodles and kkakdugi radish kimchi, the ttaro-gukbap ran slightly spicy for anyone who can't take heat, so the seolleongtang is the safer choice. Both bowls at Hanwoojang — the mellow, savory seolleongtang and the ttaro-gukbap with springy seonji (congealed blood) — were filling right down to the bottom of the earthenware pot.
