Walk-in weekend lunch at a Daebong-dong Korean restaurant: Hyangtaek
Hyangtaek Daebong Branch is a Korean restaurant in Daebong-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu, near Kim Kwang-seok Street. On a fine weekend lunch there was no TableManager wait at all, and the table came to yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef and rice bowl) at 14,000 won, herring roe bibim noodles at 13,000 won and a mushroom platter at 6,000 won, with just one spoonful of the seasoning sauce mixed in since it turns salty fast. Relaxed room, neatly plated dishes — Hyangtaek Daebong is the place to return to whenever Korean home cooking comes to mind.
