Daegu pasta restaurant with mala rosé beef brisket: Palette Hannam

Palette Hannam Daegu Dongseong-ro Branch is a pasta, gnocchi and steak restaurant on the second floor of a building on the main street of Dongseong-ro in Jung-gu, Daegu. Meeting a friend to hand over a wedding invitation, the writer ordered beef brisket mala rosé pasta for 18,900 won, basil shrimp pasta for 17,900 won and cream cheese gnocchi for 16,900 won, while steak was sold out that day. One rich mala rosé and one lighter basil shrimp pasta shared between two made Palette Hannam an easy place to meet on Dongseong-ro.

Dongseongno Thai restaurant sharing three dishes: Thai Yami, Daegu

Thai Yami is a Thai restaurant in Gyodong, Jung-gu, Daegu, tucked behind the Novotel near Jungangno Station. Meeting a friend to hand over a wedding invitation, the writer and her friend shared three dishes between two people — pad thai at 15,000 won, kai phrai at 21,000 won and poo pad pong curry at 26,000 won — and the gently spicy poo pad pong curry was the most memorable. Thai Yami is a good pick when you want something other than pasta or grilled meat around Dongseongno.
