Charcoal cleansing balm for dry skin: HEEDA Jirisan Moisture
In short
HEEDA Jirisan Moisture Charcoal Cleansing Balm is a Korean cleansing balm I used for one week for skin texture, sebum, blackheads, and post-wash dryness. It melted with the warmth of my hands and rinsed off easily after emulsifying; for me, my skin felt less dry after cleansing, though results can differ by person.

How did my skin feel after one week of use?

I wanted to switch cleansing products because I was concerned about raised, textured areas on my skin and sebum. This was my first cleansing balm, and after using it consistently for a week, I felt that the sebum beneath my skin seemed better than before. Dryness after washing had always been a concern, but my skin felt less dry after using this product, so I have continued to use it.

What were the balm texture and cleansing process like?

Because it has a black texture, I initially worried that it might not rinse away well, but it washed off easily with water. It felt as though it melted softly on contact with my skin, and cleansing with one product was convenient for me because using oil separately had felt cumbersome.

I used the spatula built into the lid to scoop out an appropriate amount and massaged it over my face. Then I added a little water and slowly emulsified it before finishing by rinsing several times with lukewarm water.

Was it suitable for sensitive, thin skin?

My skin is on the thin side, so I try to avoid cleansing it repeatedly. I personally was satisfied because it felt like a gentle cleanse in one step. However, skin condition and reactions can vary from person to person.

Did its HwaHae No. 1 claim affect my purchase?

I usually look at search rankings and HwaHae information when buying cosmetics, so its introduction as HwaHae’s No. 1 cleansing balm prompted me to try it. The brand says that fine charcoal particles help absorb sebum and impurities, but after a week of use, I mainly noticed that sebum and post-wash dryness bothered me less.
