Sinnonhyeon Station pocha bar for pork jowl suyuk: Yeongdong Pocha
Yeongdong Pocha is a retro open-air pocha (Korean pub) on the 2nd floor of the Yeongdong Market food alley in Gangnam, Seoul, between exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station and exit 3 of Nonhyeon Station. After a first round of wood-fired pizza, a married couple came to Yeongdong Pocha for a second round of Yeongdong suyuk (boiled pork slices) at 28,000 won, with oyster jeot (salted oysters) added for 3,000 won, a bowl of rice and a bottle of soju. The torch-charred pork jowl suyuk eaten with pickled green peppers and baek-kimchi (white kimchi) was the best bite of the night.
