Magok shabu-shabu with five-color rice finish: Yangcheon Shabu Son
Yangcheon Shabu Son Kalguksu, Magok Main Branch is a shabu-shabu and kalguksu (hand-cut noodle) restaurant on the first floor of Magok Botanic Park Plaza in Gangseo, Seoul. With two kids along, the writer ordered three portions of the 12,000 won basic set with the spicy broth, added 200g of shabu meat and 5 gulrim mandu (rolled dumplings), and finished with black garlic hand-cut noodles and perilla oil five-color rice. The meat was tender and the minari and mung bean sprouts were fresh, but the fried five-color rice at the end was the most memorable part of the meal.
