Ride-stop lunch at Daejeon barley rice restaurant Baengnyeon Boribap
Baengnyeon Boribap is a Korean barley rice restaurant with a 12-dish self-serve bar on Sintanjin-ro in Daedeok-gu, Daejeon. Arriving around 1:20pm on the way back from Goesan, the writer waited 5 to 10 minutes for a table, ordered the aged kimchi cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) barley rice set with mackerel and the one with stir-fried pork, went back for japchae (glass noodle stir-fry) and lettuce wraps several times, and finished with sungnyung (scorched rice tea), misugaru (roasted grain drink) and ppeongtwigi (puffed rice snacks). Mild, unfussy side dishes and a large parking lot make Baengnyeon Boribap an easy choice for a family meal or a lunch stop mid-ride.
