Sadang beef gopchang with free tripe, 10-minute wait: Bareun Hwangso

Bareun Hwangso Gopchang is a beef gopchang (grilled beef intestine) restaurant in the food alley between Sadang and Isu stations in Dongjak, Seoul. Returning a year later, the writer signed the waitlist at 8pm on a weekday, got in after just 10 minutes, and ordered two servings of Korean beef gopchang at 25,000 won each with a complimentary cheonyeop (beef tripe), odeng-tang (fish cake soup) and somaek (soju and beer). The pre-grilled gopchang, unlimited chive salad refills and open-door yajang atmosphere at Bareun Hwangso Gopchang were all exactly as they were a year ago.
