Hanam braised pollock restaurant, 3:30pm family visit: Appa Jjim
Appa Jjim Hanam Main Branch is a steam-braising restaurant in Deokpung-dong, Hanam, Gyeonggi, where dishes are cooked with high-heat steam over maekbansaek (roasting stone). Arriving with family at the off-peak hour of 3:30pm, the writer ordered the small braised pollock with extra siraegi (dried radish greens), suhyangmi pot rice, a seafood pancake, and pork cutlet and fried shrimp for the child. The braised pollock was so generous that half the seafood pancake went home as a late-night snack.
