Hongdae stew restaurant with spicy tofu jjageuli for two: Bap Jangin

Bap Jangin Hongdae Branch is a Korean restaurant near Exit 8 of Hongik University Station in Mapo, Seoul, specializing in jjageuli (thick, stew-like Korean braise) and jjigae. On a first visit one weekday evening, the two-person set meal came to 37,000 won (spicy pork-and-tofu jjageuli, stir-fried bulgogi, and potato sujebi as the added dish) alongside soft steamed egg for 3,000 won, and mixing the jjageuli with seaweed flakes and sesame oil into rice made it hard to stop. Generous ingredients and strong value make Bap Jangin Hongdae Branch a Hongdae Korean spot worth returning to 1000%.
