Ramen near Sokcho Jungang Market: tonkotsu and butadon, Ichiba Ramen
Ichiba Ramen is a Japanese-style ramen restaurant on Jungang-ro near Sokcho Jungang Market in Sokcho, Gangwon. Ordered at the kiosk, the tonkotsu ramen arrived in a rich pork bone broth topped with char siu, a soft-boiled egg and wood ear mushroom, and the butadon (pork rice bowl) came with a sauce that suited the rice so well it was easy to alternate between bowl and broth. Ichiba Ramen is a good stop to work into a market walk when you want something other than sashimi or dakgangjeong in Sokcho.
