Dongtan hot pot lunch swapping minari for bean sprouts: Deungchon
Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Gran Passage Branch is a shabu kalguksu (hot pot with knife-cut noodles) restaurant on the 2nd floor of Gran Passage Green Zone, near Dongtan Lake Park in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. The vegetable plate used to come with minari (water dropwort) only, but now comes three ways — bean sprouts, bean sprouts with minari, or minari — and this visit chose bean sprouts, working through beef, mushrooms and potato, then kalguksu noodles and dumplings, and finally fried rice. If the strong scent of minari has ever put you off, the bean sprout version of Deungchon's set is the easier way to eat here.
