Bupyeong jokbal restaurant, a delivery regular dines in: Jangmo Jokbal

Jangmo Jokbal Bupyeong Market Station Branch (장모족발 부평시장역 본점) is a jokbal (braised pig's trotters) restaurant on Buheung-ro in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, within a 5-minute walk of Bupyeong Market Station. After only ever ordering delivery, the writer booked a weekday 7 p.m. table with friends and had half-original, half-garlic front-leg jokbal for 43,000 won and jaengban guksu (spicy tray noodles) for 9,000 won. The verdict: Jangmo Jokbal's warm, chewy skin and tender meat taste clearly better than delivery, and those two dishes were plenty for three people.

Bibim naengmyeon and duck grill with two kids in Gyeyang: Ganaandeok

Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch is a charcoal duck grill restaurant on Jangje-ro in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon. Arriving at 12:30pm on a weekend, the writer was 7 parties back and waited about 30 minutes, then ordered a half raw duck and a half duck jumulleok (hand-seasoned duck) together, with Busan milmyeon (wheat noodles), bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) and a free finish of mung bean porridge and roasted sweet potato. With no gamy duck smell and tender meat, Ganaandeok Gyeyang Branch made an easy family meal out with young children.
