Gwangju jokbal restaurant with baseball screens: Kkankkanhan Jokbal
In short
Kkankkanhan Jokbal is a jokbal and bossam restaurant in Wolgye-dong, Gwangsan, Gwangju. We shared the 58,000-won half-and-half Friend Set with my cousin, husband, and child; it was plenty for three adults and one child, with baseball on the big screen too. Verdict: a relaxed, well-equipped choice for family meals or gatherings.

Parking up and eating jokbal in Wolgye-dong
I stopped by to catch up with my cousin after a long time, hear out some worries, and treat them to something delicious. Kkan Jok!! hahaha I really loved that there is a dedicated parking lot right behind the restaurant. Cheomdan is quietly a parking nightmare, so it is nice to come here without worrying about parking haha.
- Open year-round, daily from 4:00 PM to 11:30 PM
- Dedicated parking is available, along with high chairs, children's tableware, and private rooms
- The large screen is perfect for watching baseball!
- Write a Naver receipt review to receive a small spicy bossam or rice balls on the house

Seats made for eating while watching baseball
I met up at Kkankkanhan Jokbal with my husband and cousin, and plenty of people were already eating haha. It also happened to be a baseball day, so quite a few people had claimed seats in front of the screen hahaha. Tickets are seriously as hard to get as stars from the sky these days, so I think watching comfortably at a restaurant or at home with good food is its own kind of healing.

The Friend Set, half-and-half: what comes with it and how much
At Kkankkanhan Jokbal, you order from the tablet at each table. This time, we decided on the half-and-half Friend Set (₩58,000; choose two jokbal options, plus makguksu and a drink), and we were going to get one order of rice balls through the Naver review offer haha. To give you the conclusion first, there was more than enough for three adults and one child!

Charcoal-grilled jokbal and charcoal-grilled bossam
Once we had finished ordering, they set out the basic side dishes. There was salad with black sesame dressing, wrap vegetables, bean sprout soup, dried radish strips, pickled radish for wraps, and more—such perfect partners for jokbal and bossam hahaha. For our half-and-half, we chose charcoal-grilled jokbal and charcoal-grilled bossam. Maybe because it had been so long since my cousin and husband had met over a delicious meal, both of them were really hyped up hahaha.

Complimentary doenjang-jjigae and rice balls
Kkankkanhan Jokbal also serves doenjang-jjigae (soybean-paste stew) on the house. It was clean and refreshing, and my child ate it well when I spooned some out, along with the rice balls. I imagine people ordering soju would especially appreciate having some broth too hahaha.

Jokbal, bossam, and makguksu are a winning combination
Then Kkankkanhan Jokbal's makguksu (buckwheat noodles) arrived haha. The portion was generous too, and best of all, it came already mixed, so it was easy to eat haha. You cannot overlook the makguksu-and-jokbal-and-bossam combination, right? hahaha My husband had not managed a proper meal all day because of work, and he was so happy, saying he finally felt human again hahaha. Time with family is always good ♥

Kkankkanhan Jokbal also brings out steamed egg on the house, and that was delicious too. After making rice balls for my child with the ones from the Naver receipt-review event, there were some left, so we enjoyed them as well. These rice balls are honestly an incredible match with spicy jokbal or bossam hahaha. If you order something spicy, please make sure to try them together haha.

An evening of chatting with family
A day when we thoroughly enjoyed bossam kimchi with bossam and jokbal hahaha. I think we chatted for a good two hours, really. My child went to see a baseball game in person once and now watches intently whenever baseball is on, so we watched the game and explained it too. Thanks to that, we had such a full, proper family time! haha

Kkankkanhan Jokbal accepts Gwangju Sangsaeng and Onnuri gift certificates too, so it almost feels like getting a discount, which makes it even more satisfying. It is perfect for a family meal or gathering, so please give it a try. There is a reason it is our family's favorite jokbal-and-bossam restaurant haha.

If you are looking for a good jokbal place in Wolgye-dong or Cheomdan for a meal, I hope you will give Kkankkanhan Jokbal a try. Come when you have no appetite and it will really get you eating hahaha.
