Bucheon Japanese restaurant: cod roe ochazuke, tempura at Haehwagaban

Haehwagaban Lotte Department Store Jungdong Branch is a Japanese rice-bowl restaurant on basement floor 1 of the Lotte Department Store connected to Sinjungdong Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi. On a weekday lunch visit with a friend, the writer ordered cod roe rice bowl ochazuke for 12,000 won, salmon rice bowl ochazuke for 17,000 won and mixed tempura for 9,000 won, tasting ochazuke for the first time by following the three steps printed on the spoon. For anyone new to ochazuke or looking for a tidy Japanese meal inside a department store, Haehwagaban was a safe, satisfying choice.
