Deokjane Bangatgan is a Korean snack restaurant near Sinnonhyeon Station in Seocho, Seoul. Its daily-made garaetteok rice cakes, spicy-sweet sauce, and potato salad make a memorable tteokbokki combination. Verdict: a great pick for satisfyingly chewy rice-cake tteokbokki.
Insaeng Gamjatang is a Korean restaurant in Susong-dong, Gunsan, serving boneless gamjatang and haejangguk. Three of us tried the uggeoji and aged-kimchi boneless haejangguk, with rich broth, tender meat, and an easy self-service bar. Verdict: a great gamjatang stop when you do not want to pick around bones.
