Iksan Chinese restaurant with spicy gochu-jjajang: Hwangbihong
Hwangbihong is an old-school Chinese restaurant in Busong-dong, Iksan, Jeonbuk, serving only the basics — jjajang (black bean sauce noodles), jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). The order was gochu-jjajang, samseon jjamppong and mini tangsuyuk, and the gochu-jjajang was the best dish of the day: stir-fried ganjjajang style, with an intense roasted black bean sauce flavor. Hwangbihong suits anyone after a moderately spicy gochu-jjajang and a jjamppong built on Korean beef bone broth simmered for 24 hours.
