Seafood kalguksu with fresh noodles in Dongducheon: Choigang Haemul
Choigang Haemul Kalguksu is a seafood kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) restaurant in Songnae-dong, Dongducheon, Gyeonggi, where you first eat the seafood out of the pot, then finish the leftover broth with fresh noodles kneaded daily. On a weekday evening we ordered seafood kalguksu for two (₩15,000 per person) in the clear broth, pulling out squid, octopus, clams, mussels, oysters and dropwort and refilling bean sprouts and salad at the self-serve corner. It's a satisfying combo of seafood stew and noodles in one meal — no rice needed.
