Early dinner beef shabu-shabu, two extra meat plates: Songdam Kalguksu
Songdam Kalguksu is a kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and hot pot restaurant on the riverside road in Anjung, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi, marked with an old-school "1959 kalguksu" sign. The writer had the weekday-only beef shabu-shabu for two, added an extra plate of meat, and grabbed the complimentary barley rice and corn bread on an early dinner after work. With a big dining hall and a large parking lot, it works well for two people, a work dinner, or a family gathering.
