Spicy mushroom kalguksu for two, finished with fried rice: Deungchon
Deungchon Shabu Kalguksu Gran Passage Branch is a shabu-shabu and kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup) restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Green Zone in Gran Passage, Dongtan, Hwaseong. The writer ordered spicy mushroom kalguksu for two plus shabu beef (190g) and worked through the whole course — shabu-shabu, fresh noodles, then fried rice cooked tableside by the owner — calling this branch's fried rice the best of all the locations visited so far. Even a spice-wimp found the broth pleasantly spicy rather than punishing, and the meal came loaded with vegetables too.
