Hanwoojang is a seolleongtang (ox bone soup) and ttaro-gukbap (beef soup with rice served separately) restaurant on Gukchaebosang-ro in Jung-gu, Daegu, open since 1968. After shopping at Shinsegae, the writer stopped by for dinner and ordered two seolleongtang and one yangtang (tripe soup), pairing the mild, clean broth with kimchi and kkakdugi from the self-serve banchan bar. With 12 straight years on the Blue Ribbon Survey list, Hanwoojang is worth a visit whenever you want a hot, comforting bowl in central Daegu.
