Gumi restaurant near Park Chung-hee's birthplace: Irojeong loach set
Irojeong Gumi Geumosan Direct Branch is a Namwon-style loach soup (chueotang) set-meal restaurant near President Park Chung-hee's birthplace in Gumi, Gyeongbuk. Two adults and one elementary-school child shared the imyeonsu fish and warm pork with sanghwang mushroom loach soup set (12,000 won) plus a potato pancake, then ordered the fried loach again because it was so good. A café at the entrance serves old-fashioned Korean sweets and sweet pumpkin sikhye for free, so lunch and dessert are both sorted at Irojeong in one stop.
