Gangneung tofu restaurant, samhap with flounder sikhae: Jeong Eunsuk
Jeong Eunsuk Chodang Sundubu is a tofu restaurant in Chodang Village, Gangneung, run by Korea's Certified Cooking Master No. 48 and sitting directly across from the Heo Gyun and Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Hall. A couple walked in at 11am on a Monday with no wait, ordered the Chodang Premium Table for two (50,000 won), and liked the samhap of tofu, gajami sikhae (fermented flounder) and boiled pork so much that they added another plate of pork for 11,000 won. The tofu at Jeong Eunsuk Chodang Sundubu won over even a lifelong soybean-hater, who scraped the bowl clean and plans to bring his parents next time.
