Daegu Bangcheon Market Korean restaurant, hanpa galbi: Hyangtaek
Hyangtaek Daebong Branch is a Korean restaurant in Jung-gu, Daegu, near Kim Kwang-seok Street and Bangcheon Market. At the end of a weekend outing the writer stopped in and ordered the signature hanpa galbi (braised short rib) and samchi gondre bap (grilled mackerel with gondre herb rice), and the rib meat pulled apart with chopsticks while the mackerel was grilled without any fishy smell, alongside a neat spread of side dishes. Parking at Hyangtaek Daebong Branch is a bit tight, but it is a satisfying choice if you want to treat your parents to a proper Korean meal.
