Café near Gyeongbokgung Palace for fondant chocolate baum: The Baum
The Baum Gyeongbokgung Branch is a baumkuchen dessert café on Jahamun-ro, near Exit 2 of Gyeongbokgung Station in Jongno, Seoul. After walking through Gyeongbokgung Palace, I stopped by with friends for a custard baum, a choco Eifel baum, a fondant chocolate baum and an Americano, seated under a ceiling that echoes hanok rafters across the café's two floors. The Baum suits a Seoul day trip when you want an unusual dessert instead of the usual slice of cake.
