Weeknight gamjatang dinner for two in Seocho, Seoul: Chomu Gamjatang
Chomu Gamjatang is a pork bone soup restaurant on Nonhyeon-ro near Yangjae Citizen's Forest Station in Seocho, Seoul, set in a building with a hanok-style front. On a weeknight, two people ordered the small gamjatang (pork bone soup) at 35,000 won and added fried rice for 3,000 won, but the small size alone was filling enough that the fried rice went unfinished, with kimchi and kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi) free to refill at the self-serve bar. At Chomu Gamjatang the meat slipped off the bone easily and the broth was rich and savory, and the two of us ate without pausing.
