Jeju sweets shop with 9-piece scored gamtae oranda: Cheongchuni
Cheongchuni Oranda Dongmun Market Main Branch Tapdong is a traditional Korean sweets shop in Dongmun Market, Jeju, making and selling oranda (puffed rice crisp bars) and gwajul (fried rice crackers). After sampling several flavors at the tasting counter, the writer stocked up on gamtae (sea lettuce seaweed) oranda, a big square slab scored into 9 pieces that snap apart by hand. The seaweed aroma and rice-syrup sweetness made it an easy snack for kids with milk and adults with coffee.
