Seocho tteokbokki to go, eaten with ramyeon and gimbap: Deokjane
Deokjane Bangatgan is a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) and bunsik (Korean snack food) restaurant on Seocho-daero 77-gil near Sinnonhyeon Station in Seoul, and it pulls its own garaetteok (long rice cakes) in house. Ordering tteokbokki and eomuk (fish cake) to go and eating them at home with ramyeon and gimbap worked well: the sauce was loose rather than thick, which made it good for dipping gimbap, and the rice cakes still had their chew after the trip home. At Deokjane Bangatgan the rice cake, not the sauce, is the star, so it suits anyone who prefers rice tteok.
