Pork galbi restaurant near Dongmun Market: Jeju Daepo Galbi Ido

I had pork galbi with my family at Jeju Daepo Galbi Ido Branch (제주대포갈비 일도점). Since we were dining with a child, seating and parking mattered to us; some seats had partitions, and it was convenient to help ourselves to banchan (Korean side dishes).

Is it close to Dongmun Market? Where did I park?

The restaurant is on the first floor at 31 Goma-ro, Jeju-si. It is near Dongmun Market, so it was an easy stop for a meal after looking around the market. The hours listed in the original post are 17:00–23:00, with last orders at 21:30.

For parking, you can use the public lot near Jeju Dongbu Church at Ido 2-dong 322. It was relatively uncrowded when I used it. However, because the restaurant is directly in front of the church, I thought parking could be difficult on Sundays due to churchgoers.

How was the seating for a meal with a child?

The interior had a relaxed atmosphere, and the seating felt spacious. In particular, some seats were separated by partitions. When dining with a child, I often think about the distance from neighboring tables, so it was comfortable to have the space somewhat divided. It also felt like a good setting for eating grilled meat with friends.

The ₩79,000 four-person set caught my eye on the menu. It included meat, naengmyeon (cold noodles), and either alcoholic drinks or soft drinks.

Divided among four people, the total comes to ₩19,750 per person. The set includes two servings of naengmyeon for the group. If four people plan to eat both meat and naengmyeon, it seemed like a reasonably priced option.

How were the banchan and self-service bar?

The banchan were mainly vegetables that went well with the meat, and we could get more of any side dishes we needed from the self-service bar.

It was convenient to get the side dishes we needed while eating. I especially liked being able to replenish them right away while dining with a child.

How much were soju and beer?

Soju and beer were listed at ₩2,000 per bottle. We did not drink because I visited with my family, but I thought it would be nice to return with friends for grilled meat and a drink.

What did we actually order, and was there anything I regretted?

Rather than the set, my family ordered one serving of meat per person and added naengmyeon. After having the meat and then naengmyeon for dessert, the amount felt right for our meal. Once we had finished, I wished we had ordered the four-person set.

Since the set includes four servings of meat, two servings of naengmyeon, and alcoholic drinks or soft drinks, it looked like a better value for four people. However, the original post does not state the total for the items we ordered separately, so it is difficult to compare the exact difference.

The pork galbi was easy to enjoy as a family meal.

How were the mul-naengmyeon and post-meal ice cream?

The mul-naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth) we ordered for dessert suited my taste, and I finished both bowls.

After the meal, I had the ice cream prepared as a complimentary service. Ending with ice cream after the meat and naengmyeon made my child happy too.
