Banwoldang Bujasikdang is a 36-year-old Korean restaurant in Jung-gu, Daegu, a 1-minute walk from Exit 21 of Banwoldang Station. After a delicious first visit, the blogger returned to try a different signature dish, the Buja stone-plate galbi (marinated rib), and at 2pm on a weekend got a table right away with no wait. With the marinated rib staying warm on its stone plate to the last bite, a side of cheonggukjang doenjang stew and generous portions for the price, it was easy to see why Banwoldang Bujasikdang draws queues.

Three friends visited Rama & Babana on a weekday afternoon and shared chicken curry with butter garlic naan, nasi goreng (Indonesian fried rice) and mie goreng (Indonesian fried noodles), and the cheese-loaded nasi goreng and spicy seafood mie goreng were the standouts. The spices are gentle enough that everyone can enjoy the exotic flavors, making Rama & Babana an easy group meetup spot in Dongseong-ro.

Ramen shop noodle refill for two in Beomeo-dong, Daegu: Ryusenso

Ryusenso Beomeo Branch is a tonkotsu ramen restaurant in Beomeo-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu, a 3-minute walk from Exit 2 of Suseong-gu Office Station. Two diners arrived right at opening and ordered the standard Ryusenso ramen with egg and menma (seasoned bamboo shoots), a katsudon (pork cutlet rice bowl) and a noodle refill that came out as a whole new bowl. Between the thick broth, the katsudon and a spoonful of minced garlic stirred in halfway, Ryusenso is an easy pick for ramen in Beomeo-dong.
