Cleansing balm for heavy eye makeup: HEEDA Jirisan Moist Charcoal

Did it remove heavy eye makeup by hand?

I normally washed my face using only cleansing foam, but I was concerned about leftover makeup, so I tried this cleansing balm. I applied it over my made-up face, rubbed it in, lightly massaged around my eyes, and rinsed with lukewarm water.

Once it touched the warmth of my face, the formula melted even more softly and spread well across my whole face, even with a small amount. I removed everything using only my hands, without cotton pads or cotton swabs, and I felt that even my heavy eye makeup came off cleanly.

What were the texture and post-cleanse feel like?

It looked as though it might be firm at first, but it was soft enough that I did not need much force to scoop it up with the spatula. Rather than being thick and dense, it felt closer to soft yanggaeng (sweet bean jelly).

With products that cleanse strongly, my skin has sometimes felt squeaky and dry after washing. This one rinsed away well without feeling as if it was caught around my nose. For me, it left a soft, moist feeling rather than tightness, to the point that I wondered whether I needed to double cleanse.

What was convenient about using it?

The spatula clips onto the underside of the lid, so it was convenient not to have to find a separate place to store it. Before using it for the first time, I removed the plastic disc inside the container and put the lid back on.

Who might it suit?

Like me, anyone who wears heavy eye makeup and wants to remove it quickly with their hands instead of cotton pads may find it comfortable to use. I have dehydrated oily skin, and I would recommend it to people who prefer a moist feeling after cleansing.

The product page also included guidance on using it for blackheads or troubled areas on the body, but I did not try it directly on those areas. I wrote that I would be willing to buy it again once I finish it.
