Charcoal cleansing balm for winter combination skin: HEEDA

Because I have dehydrated combination skin, I tend to look for products that can cleanse sebum and blackhead-prone areas while leaving less tightness after washing, throughout the year. I tried HEEDA Jirisan Hydrating Charcoal Cleansing Balm during winter.

What are the texture and feel like?

Because it contains charcoal, the balm itself was black. Most cleansing balms I had used were white, so the color felt unfamiliar at first, but the balm softened and spread smoothly as I rolled it over my skin with the warmth of my hands.

It was fragrance-free, so the scent did not feel irritating while cleansing. I spent a little more time rolling it over areas with many blackheads, such as my nose, and those areas felt soft to the touch after cleansing.

How is the spatula stored?

When I opened it, it came with a built-in spatula, which made it easy to scoop out what I needed. The spatula has a groove and attaches to the lid, so it was easy to store without losing it after use.

Does it remove color makeup?

I rolled the balm, melted with the warmth of my hands, over lipstick, eyeliner, and eyeshadow, and they washed off. It was convenient when I wanted to cleanse makeup and sebum at once.

However, waterproof products or heavy color makeup may require a second cleanse. I used it with a cleansing foam and used it as a daily cleanser on winter days when sebum and blackheads were on my mind.

What skin concerns did I use it for?

I prefer a moisturized finish after cleansing, but I was also concerned about sebum and blackheads around my nose. Areas where I had used a separate charcoal mask also felt like they were being conveniently cared for during cleansing, so I kept reaching for it.
