How was it different from a firm balm texture?

I usually think of cleansing balms as having a firm, buttery texture, but this one softened as if melting when I pressed it with my fingertips. It felt somewhere between a gel and a balm, applied with moisture, and felt less heavy.

Because it contains charcoal, I worried it might feel dry or irritating, but it spread smoothly when I used it.

How did it feel after cleansing on combination skin?

I have combination skin with pores that clog easily, so I tend to avoid oily balm textures. This product melted with my body heat when applied to my face, then emulsified smoothly when I added water.

After rinsing, it washed off relatively cleanly without residue, and my skin felt less tight along with a soft, fresh finish. My skin texture also felt soft and smooth after cleansing.

How was it on oil-prone areas?

The formula was a dark gray with a blackish tint. I used it by gently massaging areas where sebum concerns me, such as around my nose and under my chin, and my makeup seemed to sit a little better the next day. My pores also felt more refined, though that was my personal experience.

Drawbacks and who it may suit

Because it comes in a jar, having to use a spatula was inconvenient. The scent felt subtle and fresh, but it may not suit people who prefer strong fragrances or only look for foam cleansers.
