Nonsan Korean restaurant family set meal: Sonamu Hanjeongsik

I must have been so tired lately that I got my very first stye in my life.... I thought it would disappear if I just bought medicine from the pharmacy, but instead I became the person who made it worse ㅠ^ㅠ It kept festering further inward.... And of all times, our baby's car seat was away being cleaned, so I couldn't get around with the baby, and my husband wasn't home either.... I urgently had to get to the hospital that day.... So in the end, I called Mom.

Mom came to drive me to the hospital an hour away, so I got there safely—and to mark the occasion, we went looking for a delicious restaurant. When you want to share lots of different things, a hanjeongsik (Korean full-course set meal) place is always the answer!!! We visited Sonamu Hanjeongsik (소나무 한정식), a popular restaurant near the Yeonmudae training center, and I want to recommend it because the food was delicious and so varied.

Hanok atmosphere and group seating

This popular restaurant near Tapjeong Lake has a hanok-style interior >.< The atmosphere is so tranquil that it is a wonderful place to take older family members.

Inside Sonamu Hanjeongsik, a great hanjeongsik spot in Nonsan. The main hall was spacious, and there was group seating farther inside as well. It seems suitable for events such as birthdays or first-birthday parties, and I would totally recommend it for a family meeting between the two sides in Nonsan too -

• Welcome course / pumpkin porridge, small snacks
• First course / marinated tomatoes, salted seafood with seeds, chilled chicken salad, perilla-oil makguksu (buckwheat noodles), bukkumi (pan-fried rice cake), salad, pot-cooked rice, soybean-paste soup
• Main course / braised beef short ribs, fried ginseng, grilled fish, marinated raw shrimp, spicy stir-fried octopus
• Final course / strawberry juice, yanggaeng (sweet bean jelly)

First came the pumpkin porridge as a welcome dish! It was warm, nutty, sweet, and delicious. Then the main meal arrived. Everything was arranged so neatly and beautifully, which is why I really recommend Sonamu Hanjeongsik near the Yeonmudae training center for a special family occasion. It comes with pot-cooked rice, and the rice was perfectly fluffy too ~ Such a satisfying place for a hearty meal.

Even the side dishes that come with the meal were neatly prepared and seasoned so well at this Tapjeong Lake favorite. I ate the little snacks first because I was hungry before the meal came out (so good >.<). It had been a while since I had eaten grilled fish and marinated raw shrimp, so I was busily taking photos and eating, haha.

Pot-cooked rice, scorched rice, and tender braised ribs

This was already so much food before the main dishes had even arrived ~ The hot pot-cooked rice even had a proper layer of nurungji (scorched rice)!!!!! When I lifted the lid, that lovely nutty aroma drifted out. The soybean-paste stew was rich and so delicious too 🥹🥹

The braised ribs were truly tender and delicious. How can they be this soft? The meat just melted away as soon as it went into my mouth - The octopus was plump and generously sized too, so it really felt like you were getting a proper serving! I treated Mom to some nourishing food with the fried ginseng she loves—it had been a while - Even the sauce served alongside it felt wholesome, making this a great restaurant near the Yeonmudae training center to bring older family members to 👍

There were so many side dishes and the portions were so generous that they never seemed to go down, no matter how much we ate! It had been a while since I ate so many different things, and I loved it. When you are caring for a baby, it is hard even to eat meals on time, let alone sit down to a spread like this, so I was so happy to be in front of a proper meal again - Sonamu Hanjeongsik is a Nonsan hanjeongsik restaurant I want to visit again with my family. If you are looking for somewhere in Nonsan to take older family members, I really want to recommend it.

At the end, sweet strawberry juice and yanggaeng - they were so cute, my heart melted >..< Sonamu Hanjeongsik, a Nonsan restaurant worth visiting, was perfect right through dessert.

Now that the baby can sit well in a high chair, I could settle the baby in and eat comfortably while chatting with Mom.
