Gongdeok Seoul Korean restaurant coworker reunion lunch: Usu Lunch C
Usu is an all-private-room hanwoo (Korean beef) course restaurant on basement level 2 of the Lotte Castle President retail arcade in Mapo, Seoul, connected directly to Exit 2 of Gongdeok Station. Meeting a former coworker after a long time, the writer ordered the Lunch C course at 79,000 won per person and worked through eight dishes: beef-and-egg rice porridge, three bite-sized plates (grilled potato with herring, brioche with hanwoo bulgogi, squid-ink taco with lobster), five-color abalone gardenia noodles, 80g of hanwoo with sea bream pot rice, and corn sponge cake for dessert. With quiet private rooms and a staff walkthrough of the day's ingredients, Usu suits both business entertaining and anniversary dates.
