Jongno Chinese takeout with mala tofu and yuxiang eggplant: Cheonghwa
Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon is a Chinese restaurant on the first floor of Lemeilleur Jongno Town in Jongno, Seoul, between Gwanghwamun and Jongak stations. Instead of the knife-cut noodles, this visit meant takeout mala tofu, eggplant fry (yuxiang eggplant) and shumai — the mala tofu was a rice-stealer stirred into rice, and the eggplant came sweet, soft and in a generous portion. At Cheonghwa Uyuk Dosakmyeon, the cooked dishes alone make a full meal even without a bowl of noodles.
