Gwangjin ramen after a Japan trip: spicy shoyu chili at Mentsuru
Mentsuru Children's Grand Park Branch is a Japanese ramen restaurant a 1-minute walk from Exit 4 of Children's Grand Park Station in Gwangjin, Seoul. Missing the ramen from a recent trip to Japan, the writer ordered the spicy shoyu ramen with a free cheongyang chili add-on, plus motsu ramen (beef offal ramen) and takoyaki. The offal had no gamey smell and the salty-sweet broth tasted close to the bowls served in Japan, making Mentsuru worth a return trip the next time a ramen craving hits.
