Hwaseong Chinese restaurant, late afternoon: jjamppong rice and
Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch is a cockle-and-scallop jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) restaurant in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, with its main branch in Cheonan. Visiting past 4pm on a weekend, the writer ordered level 1 jjamppong rice, level 2 jjamppong noodles, and a small tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), finding cockles and scallops that kept coming no matter how much was scooped out, a rich broth with plenty of wok-fired flavor. The jjamppong rice even came with a couple of bites' worth of noodles, making it good for a hangover too.
